TALLMAN COMPANY

About TALLMAN COMPANY

TALLMAN COMPANY, founded in 1949, is a Sheffield institution — roughly 70 years in business, servicing northwest Alabama plus Mississippi and Tennessee. It is listed as a building materials supplier, which distinguishes it from every pure contractor in this directory: its core business is supplying materials, with roofing repair, replacement, inspection, and storm damage repair also listed.

For a buyer, that longevity cuts both ways. Seventy years of continuous operation in the Shoals is unmatched and implies deep regional supplier relationships and knowledge of what materials hold up locally. On the other hand, a materials house that also performs roofing is a different animal than a dedicated roofing crew — worth clarifying whether the roofing work is done by in-house installers or arranged otherwise.

Its 4.7-star rating comes from a modest 23 reviews, consistent with a supply business whose retail customers review occasionally rather than a contractor logging hundreds of job reviews. Hours are 'call for hours' weekdays, Saturday by appointment, Sunday closed.
